The Making of the Royal Wedding Guest Gown

Twelve Days. Twelve Seamstresses. ONE SPECIAL GUEST.

Raishma dressed the gorgeous Cassie Lokko, wife of the close friend to Prince Harry, Karl Lokko for their attendance at the Royal Wedding at Kensington Palace on the 19th of May.  And we are about to show you how it was created from the original sketch to the final wear.

Drawn out and designed by Raishma herself, there was an original vision of the intricacy of the embroidery and detailing of the gown. This was placed on top of a cape sleeved silhouette on her sketch.

After initial drawings and measurements were completed, the dress itself was made in a total of just FIVE days!!

During these five days, we had twelve people hand embroidering the beading onto the material. WhatsApp Image 2018-05-21 at 1.43.48 PM

Next, there had to be some more detail added onto it with a delicate feel. Therefore, the floral designs were added and were based of the below Duck-egg Floral Gown in the Spring Summer collection.

This was the final embroidery design of the gown with its intricacy and glamour and can be seen being worn by Cassie at The Royal Wedding! Raishma's design was also featured on the Daily Mail which can be viewed on our website at www.raishma.co.uk.
